Varsity Football Shuts Out Columbia Central

COLUMBIA CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL: 0

The Varsity Football Team hosted Columbia Central for homecoming and was able to record a 54-0 shut out over the Eagles.  As a team Clinton gained 353 yards rushing and 79 yards passing.  Columbia was held to 0 yards rushing and 118 yards passing.  On offense Coy Perry threw for 20 yards on 3 of 6 passing and a touchdown.  Andy Fair threw for 59 yards on 2 of 4 passing, and had a touchdown and an interception.  Rushing leaders were Jake Felts with 123 yards on 7 carries and a touchdown.  Zak Shadley had 98 yards on 5 carries and two touchdowns.  Nik Shadley had 39 yards on two carries.  Andy Fair had 29 yards and a touchdown.  Connor Younts had 2 carries for 20 yards.  Bradyn Lehman had 4 carries for 16 yards and a touchdown.  Cole Breitenwischer had 3 carries for 14 yards and a touchdown.  Joey Preston had 11 yards rushing as well.  Bradyn Lehman had two receptions for 66 yards and two more touchdowns.  Nik Shadley had two receptions for 13 yards and Jake Felts had a reception.  Lehman was 4 for 5 with his extra point kicks as well.  Blocking was led by Nate Smith with 3 pancake blocks, Brandon Felts had two, while Max Stitt, Teddy Pizzio, and Jacob Gilson each had one.  Offensive player of the game was Jake Felts.  The Red Army Player of hte week was Brandon Johnson.  The Special Teams Player of the game was Connor Younts.  The Defensive Player of the Game was Nik Shadley.  

On defense the Redwolves had four take aways.  Connor Younts/Cole Breitenwischer came away with a fumble recovery.  Interceptions were from Nik Shadley, Coy Perry, and Ian Williams.  Pass Break ups were from Nik Shadley, Jake Felts, Bradyn Lehman, and Cole Breitenwischer.  Tackles for losses came from Bradyn Lehman, Max Stitt, Teddy Pizzio, and Jake Felts each with two apiece.  Brandon Felts and Wyatt Hicks each had one apiece.  It was a good all around game and we look forward to continuous improvement throughout each game.  Next Friday, Sept. 23rd we travel to Blissfield for our game at 7pm.  The Royals are improved and it will be a great opportunity for us to continue to improve.
