The Varsity Football Team traveled to Coldwater to play in the state semi finals against Grand Rapids West Catholic.  The Redwolves lost 14-33 in and finished in the Final Four with an overall record of 12-1 on the year.  On the opening drive Clinton was able to drive down the field but was kept out of the end zone after a couple of miscues in the Red Zone.  But the offensive drive did exactly what we wanted and took up the entire first quarter.  West Catholic then ripped off a one of several long runs for a touchdown.  Again the Redwolves drove the ball down inside the 10 yard line, but were unable to score.  Again West Catholic had another long run for a touchdown.  Overall the Redwolves were unable to stop West Catholic on the day.  Clinton did put two in the endzone in the fourth quarter.  The first was a touchdown run by Bradyn Lehman from two yards out, but the two point conversion failed.  The other was a pass from Andy Fair to Nate Smith for an 11 yard touchdown and another pass to Max Stitt for the two point conversion.  Overall Clinton ran the ball 68 times for 296 yards and had three completions for 28 yards for 324 yards of offense.  West Catholic had 339 yards of rushing and 24 yards of passing for 363 yards of offense.  Clinton dominated the time of possession, but were unable to stop West Catholic on defense.  Zak Shadley was the leading rusher with 96 yards on 25 carries.  Jake Felts had 69 yards on 17 carries, Nik Shadley had 68 yards on 8 carries, Bradyn Lehman had 41 yards on 12 carries and one touchdown.  Cole Breitenwischer had 8 yards on 2 carries, Joey Preston had 7 yards on 2 carries, and Andy Fair had 7 yards on 2 carries.  Fair was 3 for 5 passing for 28 yards, one touchdown and an interception.  Lehman had two catches for 17 yards and Nate Smith had one catch for 11 yards and a touchdown.  Pancake blocks on the night were gathered by Mason Brodie, Nate Smith, and Brandon Felts with two apiece.  Joey Preston, Nate Page, and Max Stitt each had one pancake block apiece.  Zak Shadley led the defense with 6 tackles and a pass break up.  Bradyn Lehman had a tackle for a loss. Offensive Player of the game was Zak Shadley.  Defensive Player of the Game was Max Stitt.  Special Teams Player of the Game was Bradyn Lehman.  Red Army Player of the Week was John Keibler.  This was a tough loss for everyone as we had goals of playing on Ford Field again, but we fell short.  I am proud of this team, the adversity that we overcame, and everything that was achieved by them.  LCAA Champs, Third Straight District Championship, Regional Championship, and a Final Four appearance.  Thank you to all the seniors and the rest of the players for everything you gave to the program and for the memories.
