Football Wins 2nd Straight LCAA Championship Over The Tigers

On Friday, Oct. 20th the Varsity Football Team defeated the Hudson Tigers at home to win the LCAA Championship for the second year in a row. Clinton dominated the game from start to finish. Clinton rushed for 351 yards and held Hudson to 51 yards rushing for the game. Clinton passed for another 39 yards to Hudson's 13 yards. Clinton finished with 390 yards to Hudson's 64 yards of total offense. Leading rusher was Nik Shadley with 91 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown. Bryce Randolph had 88 yards on 6 carries and a touchdown. Cole Breitenwischer had 85 yards on 15 carries. Jake Felts had 49 yards on 9 carries. Joey Preston had 36 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown. Andy Fair had a carry for 2 yards as well. Andy Fair was 2 for 5 passing for 39 yards and one touchdown. Nik Shadley had a catch for 32 yards and a touchdown. Cole Breitenwischer had a catch for 7 yards. Wyatt Hicks kicked a 29 yard field goal on the night. Mason Brodie had one punt on the night that went 47 yards and pinned Hudson deep. Pancake blocks on the night were from Teddy Pizio with 4, Bryce Randolph and Wyatt Hicks with 2 each. Jake Felts and Cole Breitenwischer both had a pancake block a piece.
Defensively Clinton was led in tackles by Jake Felts with 6, Bryce Randolph with 5, Wyatt Hicks, and Brenden Benschoter with 4 each. Teddy Pizio and Bryce Randolph each had two tackles for a loss, while Joey Preston, Tyrus Hayes, Hicks, and Felts had one a piece. Wyatt Federer caused a fumble with a big hit and Cade Brighton recovered the fumble. Benschoter had a pass break up, while Nik Shadley and Andy Fair each had interceptions. Offensive Player of the Week was Nik Shadley with a touchdown running and another receiving. Defensive Player of the Game was Andy Fair after having an interception and several run stops. Special Teams Player of the Game was Wyatt Hicks after connecting on a 29 yard field goal and having several great kicks on kickoff. Red Army Player of the Week was Wyatt Federer for playing great defense during the week. Captain of the Week is Joey Preston for his consistent play and effort.
This week the MHSAA Playoffs start and Clinton is fortunate enough to host the first round against a familiar opponent the Blissfield Royals Friday, Oct. 27th at 7pm. We look forward to another great crowd in support of your Redwolves.
