LUMEN CHRISTI CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL : 21
On Friday, Nov. 10th the varsity football team traveled to Jackson Lumen Christi to play in the MHSAA Regional Championship. Clinton lost a hard fought battle 14-21 to the defending state champions. Clinton made the game a battle and had opportunities in the game, but came up short. We are proud of the team effort and the toughness they displayed during the game and the entire season. This team came together as one unit and won back to back LCAA Championships and their 4th District Championship in a row. Clinton rushed for 177 yards and threw for 62 more for 239 yards of offense. Lumen Christi rushed for 195 yards and threw for 17 yards for a total of 212 yards of offense. Clinton out gained them, but fell short on the scoreboard. Leading rusher was Nik Shadley with 80 yards on 12 carries and a two point conversion, Bryce Randolph with 36 yards on 9 carries and a touchdown, Jake Felts had 35 yards on 10 carries, Cole Breitenwischer had 20 yards on 6 carries and a touchdown, and Andy Fair had 6 yards on 3 carries. Andy Fair was 7 for 11 passing for 62 yards. Jake Felts caught 3 passes for 24 yards, Nik Shadley had a crazy catch for 23 yards, and Mason Brodie caught 3 passes for 15 yards. Mason Brodie had one punt for 40 yards and Cole Breitenwischer had 4 kickoff returns for 52 yards. Bryce Randolph had two pancake blocks and Mason Brodie had one.
On defense, leading tacklers were Bryce Randolph and Nik Shadley with 8 & 9 each. Cole Breitenwischer and Wyatt Hicks had 6 tackles each. Jake Felts had 5 tackles. Teddy Pizio and Andy Fair had 4 tackles each. Tackles for a loss were made by Bryce Rosacrans, Bryce Randolph, and Jake Felts. Nik Shadley recovered a fumble as well.
Offensive Player of the Game was Nik Shadley, Defensive Player of the Game was Bryce Randolph. Special Teams Player of the Game was Mason Brodie. Red Army Players of the Week were Clifford Jones, Donnie Kline, and Joe Webb.
This was a terrific season that ended too soon for us all, but what a great season it was. We want to thank our seniors for everything they dedicated to each other and the program. Seniors are: Wyatt Federer, Cole Breitenwischer, Ian Williams, Joey Preston, Nik Shadley, Tyrus Hayes, Bryce Rosacrans, Teddy Pizio, Wyatt Hicks, Denver Kirkendall, Jack Gilroy, Nate Page, Kaden Thompson, Derek Hill, and Brandon Johnson. Their legacy was sharpened throughout the entire season. Back to Back LCAA Championships and 4 straight District Championships. Thank you for all the support throughout the year.
