On Friday, September 9th Clinton hosted LCAA rival Ida for a home varsity football contest.  Last year Ida defeated Clinton during the regular season, but Clinton defeated them in the District Championship Game.  This year Clinton took the LCAA contest 18-6.  The game had its share of penalties and mistakes but overall the team collected a quality win.  Clinton rushed for 251 yards and held Ida to 111 yards.  Clinton passed for an additional 11 yards as well.  Senior Bradyn Lehman collected 133 yards on the ground to go along with a rushing touchdown.  Sophomore Jake Felts added 57 yards, while Zak Shadley had 40 and Nik Shadley had 22.  No running back for Ida had over 34 yards on the ground.  Coy Perry was 1 for 2 passing for 11 yards.  Zak Shadley had that reception for 11 yards.  Leading the defense in take aways was sophomore Andy Fair as he collected 3 interceptions on the night, which ties a school record from Craig Quick back in 1988.  Andy added four tackles with those interceptions.  Nik Shadley had an exciting interception that he returned for a touchdown, but it was called back on a block in the back call.  Bradyn Lehman led the team in tackles with 10, while Jake Felts, Nate Smith, Brandon Felts, Teddy Pizio, and Wyatt Hicks all had 5 tackles apiece.  Lehman also had two tackles for a loss, and Brandon Felts, Zak Shadley, Jake Felts, and Wyatt Hicks each had a tackle for a loss.

Offensively we had numerous pancake blocks as Jake Felts led the way with four, Jake Gilson, Mason Brodie, Nate Smith, and Wyatt Hicks all had two apiece.  Brandon Felts and Nate Page each had one pancake block.  Offensive player of the game was Nate Smith.  Defensive player of the game was Andy Fair.  Special Teams player of the game was Zach Duford.  The Red Army player of the game was Cole Breitenwischer.  Wegner Field was packed as it was Clinton Youth Football night.  Special Thanks to all the youth players and families for attending.  Thank you to Clinton Youth Football and our Athletic Director for organizing the recognition.  Thank you to all the Clinton Youth Football Coaches for all you do as well.

This Friday, September 16th we will host Columbia Central for homecoming at 7pm.  We are looking forward to another great crowd as we look to continue to improve.
