Varsity Football Defeats Hillsdale

HILLSDALE HIGH SCHOOL: 7

Friday, Oct. 14th the Varsity Football Team traveled to Hillsdale and came away with a 31-7 win.  Clinton took the opening possession down and scored off a Zak Shadley run, followed by a two point conversion by Bradyn Lehman to make it 8-0.  But Hillsdale put together a drive of their own and put one in the endzone, followed by a completed P.A.T. to make the score 8-7 Clinton.  From that point on Clinton controlled the scoreboard.  Finishing the game with a 31-7 win.  Clinton rushed for 252 yards and passed for 75 more yards for a total of 327 yards on the night.  Hillsdale was held to 45 yards passing and 127 yard rushing.  Lehman rushed for 121 yards on 15 carries and two 2 point conversions, he also caught two passes for 52 yards. One catch was a diving catch down the field.  Jake Felts had 39 yards on 8 carries and a touchdown, he also caught a pass for 12 yards.  Zak Shadley had 36 yards on 11 carries and scored on runs of 1 and 3 yards.  Cole Breitenwischer ran for 32 yards on 8 carries.  Joey Preston had 10 yards on two carries.   Coy Perry had one run for five yards and Andy Fair had one run for 9 yards.  Passing results were Coy Perry at 0-2 and Andy Fair 4-5 for 75 yards.   Max Stitt also caught a pass for 11 yards.  Picking up huge pancake blocks during the game were Brandon Felts with four, Wyatt Hicks with three, Jacob Gilson, Max Stitt, Mason Brodie, and Jake Felts all with two apiece.  While Nate Smith picked up a pancake block as well.  

Defensively Connor Younts broke up a pass, while Coy Perry caused a fumble.  Tackles for losses were by Wyatt Hicks with three, Brandon Felts, Nate Smith, Jake Felts, Bradyn Lehman, Brandon Johnson, and Bryce Rosacrans with one apiece.  Offensive Player of the game was Bradyn Lehman, Defensive Player of the Game was Wyatt Hicks, Special Teams Player of the Game was Bradyn Lehman, and Red Army Player of the Week was Tyrus Hayes.  

This Friday the varsity football team travels to Hudson to finish the regular season at 7pm.
