The Clinton Redwolves made a strong statement in their first LCAA road match of the season Tuesday night, traveling to Dundee and returning home with a convincing 3-0 victory. Clinton controlled the match from the opening serve, winning 25-10, 25-23 and 25-15. The Redwolves were balanced offensively throughout the night, finishing with 30 kills. Bella Bannon led Clinton with 8 kills, hitting an impressive .333. Rylee Pepper added 6 kills and 7 digs, while Avery Loftis, Addison Loftis and Abby Sheneman each contributed 4 kills each. Avery Loftis also helped direct the offense from the service line and setter position, recording a team-high 12 assists. Addison Loftis added 11 assists, giving Clinton a strong one-two combination in its offensive distribution. Defensively, the Redwolves were active all night. Clinton recorded 53 digs, led by Addison Loftis with 10 digs. Lila Kennedy finished with 9 digs, while Calli Kruger had 4 digs and Zoey Riddle with 2 digs. At the net, Clinton recorded 5 solo blocks and 6 block assists, helping the Redwolves maintain control during key stretches of the match. The service game was another major factor. Clinton recorded 12 aces and finished the night at 93.24% serving. Avery Loftis led the way with 3 aces and 12 points, while Addison Loftis, Calli Kruger, Lila Kennedy and Zoey Riddle each contributed multiple aces. The second set proved to be the most competitive of the night, with Dundee pushing Clinton before the Redwolves eventually pulled away for the 25-23 victory. Clinton then settled back in during the third set, closing out the match 25-15. The win gives Clinton valuable momentum early in the LCAA schedule. After opening LCAA pool play at home on Sept. 1, the Redwolves now have an important road victory under their belt as they continue through a challenging September schedule. They are 5-0 in LCAA play and 12-3-1 overall.
