The Clinton Redwolves JV volleyball team traveled to Dundee on September 8 to take on a tough Vikings squad in their first competition after a two-week break from play. The extended time between matches proved challenging as the Redwolves fell in two straight sets, 13-25 and 23-25. While Clinton struggled to find its rhythm early, the team battled throughout the second set and pushed Dundee to the final points before falling just short. Brooklynn Kranz led the Redwolves offensively with six kills and added four points. Kylie Hicks directed the Clinton offense with 11 assists, while Makena Peters contributed six digs and seven points, including three service aces. Avah Vershum also recorded six digs. DeLane McKinnon added three kills, and Harper Wright contributed two kills. Although the result wasn't what the Redwolves hoped for, the team will have a quick opportunity to get back on the court and continue building momentum. Clinton travels to Airport on Thursday for a quad, where the Redwolves will face Airport, Ida, and Wyandotte. With three matches ahead, Clinton will look to shake off the loss, regain its rhythm, and continue improving as the season moves forward.
