The Clinton Redwolves JV volleyball team continued its busy stretch of competition on September 12, traveling to the Motor City Power League to take on a challenging pool featuring three Class A programs: Saline, Plymouth, and Cass Tech. Clinton finished the day 1-2, but the Redwolves continued to show improvement and battled against each of their opponents. The team opened the day against Saline, falling 22-25 and 20-25. Clinton then faced Plymouth in a tightly contested three-set match. The Redwolves took the second set 25-20 after dropping the first 16-25, but Plymouth edged Clinton 15-17 in the deciding set. The Redwolves closed out pool play with an impressive performance against Cass Tech, earning a convincing 25-12, 25-9 victory. One of the biggest positives from the day was the team's ability to execute the areas it had been focusing on in practice. Clinton showed significant improvement in serve receive and was able to establish a faster passing tempo, allowing the offense to stay aggressive and keep opponents on their heels. Kylie Hicks led the Redwolves with 21 assists, 24 points, 25 digs, and 10 kills. Brooklynn Kranz had an outstanding all-around performance, recording 25 kills, 16 assists, 23 digs, and 12 points. Makena Peters anchored the back row with 30 digs and added nine points. DeLane McKinnon contributed nine kills and 12 points, while Karsyn Nicholson added six kills and four blocks. Paisley Kurowcki and Aby Webb also made important contributions from the serving line. Clinton now looks ahead to another busy week, with the Redwolves traveling to Onsted, Dansville, and Tecumseh.
