On Friday, Sept. 11th the varsity football team traveled to Dundee to face the Vikings in an LCAA contest. The day was filled with spirit, honor and remembering the tragic event of 9/11. Our own fire department walked the stadium stairs in honor of the fallen. What a great tribute from an outstanding community. Clinton took the ball to start the game and finished the opening drive with a 12 yard rushing touchdown from Dacari Garrison and a two point conversion by Dacari as well to put the Redwolves up 8-0. During the next possession the Redwolves drove down the field again and this time it was Gradyn Whelan connecting with Dacari Garrison through the air for an 18 yard touchdown pass and reception. The conversion failed. Clinton led 14-0 after the first quarter. The second quarter saw a huge pass from Gradyn Whelan to Dacari Garrison for a 39 yard touchdown pass and catch. Another touchdown pass from Gradyn Whelan, this time to Bronson Whelan for 35 yard touchdown. Jaxon Phillip finished with a 2 point conversion. Clinton led 28-0 going into halftime. Clinton continued to work on execution in all phases of the game in the second half while getting some quality reps for many. In the second half Braxton Randolph ripped off a 38 yard touchdown run, with Jaxon Speth converting the extra point kick. Clinton 34 Dundee 0. Then to finish the scoring in the third quarter Bronson Whelan took the ball 68 yards for a rushing touchdown. Our two point conversion was stopped. In the fourth quarter Braxton Randolph punched another touchdown run in, this time from 18 yards out. Jaxon Speth followed that up with another extra point kick to finish the scoring on the night. Clinton 48 Dundee 0. The defense held strong all night and combined for many tackles for a loss, and several sacks to keep the pressure on Dundee all night. Offensively it was Gradyn Whelan completing 6 out of 12 passes for 128 yards and 3 touchdowns. Gradyn also rushed 7 times for 71 yards. The leading rusher was Braxton Randolph with 108 yards on 11 carries and two touchdowns. Bronson Whelan had one carry for 68 yards and a touchdown. He also had 2 receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown. Dacari Garrison had two rushes for 32 yards a touchdown and a two point conversion. Dacari also had 4 receptions for 84 yards and two more touchdowns. Jake Halchishak had two rushes for 11 yards, Jaxon Phillip had two rushes for 11 yards as well and a two point conversion. Brayden Lauer had two carries for 7 yards, while Brady Alhers had two carries for 7 yards as well. Aiden Hall had a carry for four yards. Leaders on the offensive line with pancake blocks were Jonah Hahn and Grant Kutzley with 3 a piece. Zander Urban, Owen Wright, and Jacob Pope each had two. Royce Martinez picked up one pancake block. Defensively Jake Halchishak and Braxton Randolph led the team in tackles with 5 each. Randolph picked up 3 tackles for a loss and two sacks as well. Bronson Whelan had 3 tackles and Gradyn Whelan had 3.5 tackles as well as 2 tackles for a loss and one sack. Jacob Pope had two tackles, a tackle for a loss, and 3 sacks on the night. Jonah Hahn had two sacks during the game. Owen Wright had a 1/2 a sack as well as Paul Blanchard and Royce Martinez. Others with tackles were Lucas Coughlin, Dacari Garrison , Noah Jenkins, Jaxon Phillip, Roman Roberts, Brody Wenn, and Zander Urban. The offensive player of the game was Dacari Garrison. The defensive player of the game was Jake Halchishak. The Special Teams Player of the Game was Lucas Coughlin. The Red Army Player of the Week was David Johnson. This Friday we have our annual homecoming game as we welcome Onsted in for the game at 7pm
