The Clinton JV volleyball team put together another strong night of competition Thursday, September 17, at the Tecumseh Quad. The Redwolves finished the evening with a 2-1 record, earning wins over Pinckney and Blissfield before falling to host Tecumseh in a hard-fought three-set battle. Clinton opened the night with a convincing 25-20, 25-20 victory over Pinckney. The Redwolves followed with another strong performance against Blissfield, earning a 25-16, 25-18 win. The final match of the evening featured a battle with Tecumseh. The Redwolves won the opening set 25-20, but struggled to remain offensive in the second match, losing 17-25. Tecumseh ultimately edged Clinton 15-11 to take the match. Despite the loss against Tecumseh, the team competed strong throughout the night. They showed great chemistry throughout all three matches, and everyone contributed. It was exciting to see our players trust each other and step up when their team needed them. Brooklynn Kranz led the Redwolves offensively with 32 kills while also contributing 15 assists, 26 digs and 15 points, including seven aces. Kylie Hicks recorded 34 assists, 24 digs and a team-high 31 points, including seven aces. Makena Peters anchored the defense with an impressive 49 digs while also adding eight assists. Sophia Friske contributed 16 digs and 23 points, including two aces. DeLane McKinnon added 13 kills, while Karsyn Nicholson recorded 11 kills. The Redwolves also received important offensive contributions from Avah Vershum, Mady Stratz, Ella Patterson and Harper Wright. On the defensive side, Ella Wollett, Paisley Kurowcki and Aby Webb made key plays to help keep Clinton in rallies and extend points. The balanced effort was a major factor in Clinton's two victories and continued to demonstrate the depth and chemistry developing within the Redwolves' roster. With the 2-1 finish, Clinton improves to 11-5 on the season. The Redwolves will return to action Tuesday, September 22, when they host Hillsdale.
