Clinton’s JV Football team continued league this Monday with a trip to Ida to take on the Bluestreaks. Clinton was able to get the scoring started with a long first drive that was capped off by a 1 yard touchdown run from Brady Ahlers, putting the Redwolves up 6 to 0. Clinton’s defense would stand strong and get the ball back allowing for another touchdown drive, this one also finished by Ahlers on a 14 yard run. After forcing a 3 and out, Clinton would score again this time on a short run from Brayden Lauer. After half time, Clinton and Ida would exchange drives back and forth, before Clinton would find some creases and march down the field again, this time getting Aiden Hall into the endzone from 5 yards out. The Bluestreaks would not be denied though, and they would score a touchdown of their own on a 30 yard pass. Clinton would respond quickly and on the first play of their next drive, Grant Talaga, would get loose and score from 50 out. On the Redwolves two point conversions, it was their passing game that would help them to convert, with Gannon Pearce completing passes to Noah Jenkins, Bennett Spicer, and Brady Ahlers; as well as, Jenkins completing a pass of his own to Spicer for another point after try. Clinton’s defense was led all night by great linebacker play from Brayden Lauer, Noah Jenknis, Leeland Korpusik, and Aiden Hall. The Redwolves left with a 38 to 6 victory. They will be back in action on Saturday morning, September 26th, as they travel to Pinckney.
