The Clinton JV volleyball team celebrated Youth Night with a strong performance at home Tuesday evening, sweeping the Hillsdale Hornets in two straight sets, 25-17 and 25-10. From the opening serve, the Redwolves controlled the match with an aggressive offensive attack and challenging serves that Hillsdale struggled to handle. Clinton consistently put pressure on the Hornets with its serving game while finding success at the net throughout both sets. The victory was truly a team effort, with contributions from every area of the court. Karsyn Nicholson led the Redwolves offensively with nine kills, while Brooklynn Kranz added seven kills. Kylie Hicks directed the Clinton offense with 12 assists and also contributed seven digs and 14 points, including five aces. Makena Peters anchored the defensive effort with nine digs and added six points and three aces. Kranz recorded five digs along with her seven kills and four aces. Avah Vershum and Paisley Kurowcki each added four digs, while Vershum contributed five points and two aces. The Redwolves also received important contributions from Ella Wollett and Aby Webb in the back row. DeLane McKinnon, Ella Patterson, Harper Wright and Mady Stratz provided additional attacks from the front row, helping Clinton maintain its offensive pressure throughout the match. With the victory, Clinton improves to 12-5 on the season. The Redwolves will return to action Thursday evening when they host a tri-match against Jonesville and Manchester.
