The Clinton Redwolves continued their impressive season Tuesday night, sweeping Hillsdale 3-0 with dominant set scores of 25-9, 25-8 and 25-7. With the victory, Clinton improves to 20-5-1 on the season and continues to build momentum as the season heats up. During the matches tonight, Clinton also hosted their youth night. The Clinton 3rd and 4th graders were able to come enjoy the “big” court before the JV match and have fun playing and then the 5th and 6th graders got their time on the court before the Varsity game. It was a great event with many youth athletes and their families in attendance. We love the volleyball family that supports all levels of volleyball in Clinton. The HS teams love coaching the girls up during practices each week. Clinton came out aggressively from the opening whistle, taking control of all three sets. The Redwolves’ offense was efficient throughout the match, finishing with 36 kills on 80 attempts while hitting an impressive .388 as a team. Rylee Pepper led the Redwolves offensively with 9 kills, while Addison Loftis added 8 kills of her own. Joslyn Kranz contributed 6 kills on 8 attempts, hitting a remarkable .750 on the night. Bella Bannon and Abby Sheneman each recorded 4 kills. Defensively, Clinton was active across the court, recording 51 digs. Pepper led the way with an outstanding 14 digs, while Lila Kennedy added 13. Addison Loftis finished with 5 digs, and several Redwolves contributed to the team’s overall defensive effort. The service line was another area where Clinton excelled. The Redwolves recorded 17 aces and served at an impressive 97.26%. Avery Loftis was perfect from the service line, going 14-for-14 with 4 aces. Rylee Pepper added 5 aces, while Abby Sheneman recorded 5 aces as well. Clinton’s blocking also helped keep Hillsdale out of system. The Redwolves finished with 3 solo blocks and 7 block assists, contributing to a defensive performance that held Hillsdale to just 24 total points across three sets. The Redwolves’ balanced performance was reflected in the final scores. Clinton allowed just 9 points in the first set, 8 in the second and 7 in the third, closing out the sweep in convincing fashion. Clinton hosts their Tri Match #1 on Thursday. The JV and Varsity will both play at 5pm against Manchester and then again at 7 pm against Jonesville during the tri match.
