The Clinton JV volleyball team continued its strong run Tuesday night, hosting a tri-match against Manchester and Jonesville and coming away with two convincing victories. The Redwolves played solid, low-error volleyball throughout all four sets, defeating Manchester 25-10 and 25-13 before taking down Jonesville 25-9 and 25-20. Clinton's fast-tempo offense proved to be too much for both opponents to overcome. The Redwolves consistently pressured opposing defenses with an aggressive attack while limiting their own mistakes. As a team, Clinton hit an impressive .324 for the night. The balanced offensive attack was led by Karsyn Nicholson, who recorded 16 kills, followed by Brooklynn Kranz with 13, Kylee Hicks with eight and DeLane McKinnon with six. Hicks and Kranz also shared the setting duties, recording 20 and 17 assists, respectively. Defensively, Makena Peters led the Redwolves with 25 digs, while Kranz added 11, Hicks had 10 and Sophia Friske contributed eight. Hicks also led Clinton in scoring with 27 points, including five aces. Peters added 15 points and a team-high 10 aces. The Redwolves received important contributions throughout the lineup. Aby Webb, Ella Wolett and Paisley Kurowcki made several key defensive plays in the back row, helping keep rallies alive and allowing Clinton's offense to continue its pressure. Harper Wright, Avah Vershum, Ella Patterson and Mady Stratz also provided additional offensive power from the front row throughout the two matches. The four-set performance was another example of the Redwolves' balanced team play, with every player contributing to the night's success. Clinton will resume league play Tuesday when the Redwolves travel to Hudson to take on the Tigers.
