Wrestling takes 4th

The Varsity wrestling team traveled to Grand Rapids Forest Hills Eastern High for a team tournament Saturday January 13th. The Redskins went 3-2 in dual meets to finish 4th. Division 2 #7 ranked Dewitt was the champion followed by D2 #3 Gaylord, D2#10 Niles. The day started well with wins over Zeeland East 81-0 and Otsego 67-7. The 3rd round was against D4 #7 Pine River and the Redskins got the 3rd win of the day 42-27. Gaylord was next and they proved too much taking the dual 49-15 and sending the wrestling team to the 3-4 match against Niles. This meet saw the Redskins take another defeat 33-18. Brayden randolph and Trent Sexton both went 5-0 for the day. Aj Baxter, Noah Comar, and Eathen Hicks went 4-1. Jeffrey Konz went 3-1. Christian Minard, Spencer Konz, and Don Stump finished 3-2 for the day. The weekend moved the Redskins record to 20-4 on the season. The wrestling team travels to Sand Creek Wednesday and then to Fenton for a team tournament Saturday.
