On Tuesday night the Clinton JV boys basketball team battled the outdoor elements to travel to Whitmore Lake and picked up a 61-32 TCC victory.  This game marked the start of the second round of TCC play, and with the win the JV team improves to 7-4 overall and 6-1 in the TCC.  

Whitmore Lake was able to get off to a quick start as the Redskins were adjusting to life without their starting point guard who did not play due to sickness.  The Trojans, looking for their first win of the season, were the aggressors early on and took a 18-13 first quarter lead.  After some first quarter adjustments, the Redskins defense began to clamp down, holding Whitmore Lake to two points in the second quarter, taking a 27-20 halftime lead.  That effort carried over to the second half, as Clinton held the Trojans to just 12 second half points, while pouring in 34 of their own, as all 10 players who dressed saw significant minutes.  

Gavin Scott was one of three Redskin players to reach double figures, leading the way with 15 points.  Tommy Burt added 14 points, and Jacob Huddleston finished with 12 points to go with a team high 9 rebounds.  Makai Cruz and Zach Kovach did a tremendous job settling in and playing extended minutes at the point guard position.

The team will turn their attention to Petersburg-Summerfield, as the two teams are scheduled to play this Thursday in Summerfield.  The JVs will tip at 5:30 with the Varsity game to follow.

UPDATE:  The Clinton at Summerfield game was postponed and rescheduled for Saturday, February 9th.  The JVs will tip at 4:30, with the Varsity game at 6PM (Note: The game is moved up one hour earlier from the normal start time).
