Clinton Varsity Red Team Competed at Adrian Madison Tournament

Clinton sent a group to compete in varsity competition at Adrian Madison on Saturday, Feb. 5th and came away with several placers.  Sophomore Bryce Rosacrans picked up the championship at 215 pounds.  He battle all day starting off with a pin over Logan Russell of Madison, then grabbed a 7-5 sudden victory in overtime over Tristan Clay of Whitmore Lake in the semi finals.  Bryce then defeated Dan Meckley of Sand Creek in the finals with a pin to earn his first varsity championship.  Freshman Hamza Rafferty picked up a runner up finish at heavyweight after he earned a pin over Robert Jewell of the Warriors.  Hamza then defeated Jason Harbach of Saline, before falling to Judah Kinne of Lake Orion in the finals.   Rourke Solomonson lost his opening match 9-7 at 145 pounds then picked up a pin over Morgan Miller from the Warriors.  Rourke lost his last match by fall to end his tournament run.  Gage Blackburn competed at 145 pounds as well and placed 4th on the day.  Gage pinned Oscar Connelly of Seaholm, then pinned Julian Ariaza of Erie Mason.  Gage lost to Austin Jawarski of Dundee, then lost a heartbreaker to Angel Cabrera of Madison 10-8.  Wyatt Federer competed at 140 pounds and went 2-2 on the day just falling short of placing.  Wyatt picked up wins over Michael Davies of Seaholm with a pin.  Then picked up his other win over Eli Binder of Valley Lutheran with a 6-2 decision.  Reed Patrick and Aiden Johnson wrestled at 135 and 130 pounds and competed hard, but fell short in placing.  Faith Blackburn competed at 130 pounds and defeated Brandon Guth of Tecumseh with a pin and finished the day 1-2, falling short of placing.  Dylan Badge took fourth overall at 125 pounds after coming our on fire with a pin over Heston Fanson of Whitmore Lake, then defeating Ryan Joyce of Erie Mason 4-2.  But in the semi finals Dylan was injured and had to default down to fourth place.  These wrestlers had a great day and earned more varsity experience for the future of the program.
