Clinton Red Team or Varsity B team competed against Sand Creek and Michigan Center on the night.  The Red Team lost to Sand Creek 24-48 and lost to Michigan Center 18-47.  But gained valuable mat experience as many were competing at the varsity level for the first time.  Raven Aldridge picked up two pins on the night wrestling with the boys.  AJ Johnson picked up a win at 157 pounds for the Redwolves, as he kept battling and came from behind to earn the pin.  Both Shane Cook and Owen Wright earned wins against Sand Creek.  Against Michigan Center Freshman Lucas Coughlin picked up a pin with several reversals, escapes and a takedown right before he earned the pin.  Owen Wright won his second match of the night with a pin in the second period at 175 pounds after two reversals and a set of back points.  I am proud of our competitive spirit and the way we battled tonight.  Even in matches where the score was not in our favor we showed promise for the future.  Next up both the Varsity Boys and JV Boys travel to Westland John Glenn High School on Saturday, Dec. 9th for a varsity team tournament and a JV individual tournament.  Our girls team heads to East Jackson on Friday, Dec. 8th for an individual tournament.  Thank you for the support tonight, the gym was packed and the atmosphere was electric.  Music was blaring and the Redwolves were responding with some exciting matches.
