JV Wrestling Competes at Westland John Glenn Invite

The JV team competed at the Westland John Glenn Individual Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 9th.  Clinton came away with a lot of placers.  Carter Wolff placed 3rd at 132 pounds after picking up three pins and a 7-4 win in his third place match.  The only match Carter lost was a 3-4 decision in the semi finals.  Jake Halchishak picked up the tournament championship at 132 pounds behind the effort of 3 pins on the day.  Lucas Coughlin opened his tournament with a 7-6 win, then dropped two one was 5-8 and the other 2-4.  Lucas then picked up a first period pin before dropping his final match 0-5 to take 6th overall.  Keegan Keith picked up two pins in a row before dropping his semi final match 1-4.  Keegan came storming back with a pin and a 10-6 win to take 3rd overall at 138 pounds.  Austin Putnum picked up a tournament championship at 144 pounds after opening with a pin, Austin picked up wins 14-9 and 7-2 before pinning his opponent in the championship match.  Cory Hoover battled in both his matches at 144 pounds and dropping a close one 3-4 in his last match.  Jonah Hahn battled back after dropping his first match, he picked up a first period pin, then dropped his final match 3-7 at 144 pounds.  Griffin Bowers battled in both his matches at 144 pounds but came up short.  After dropping his first match Brody Wenn rattled off three straight wins at 150 pounds, collecting two pins, and an 10-7 decision.  Wenn lost his last match to take 6th place overall.  Lucas Geotting competed at 150 pounds as well and after dropping his first match, Lucas lost a close 0-4 decision.  Owen Wright picked up two decisions 11-4 and 5-2, along with a pin to put himself in the championship match.  Owen battled but lost in the finals to take 2nd place overall at 165 pounds.  Jayden Duplessis opened his tournament with a pin at 165 pounds, then dropped his next two matches to finish his day.  Royce Martinez battled at 175 pounds along with Carson Ehnis at 190 pounds, but both lost their matches.  Chance Maddox competed at 215 pounds and picked up an pin to open his tournament, but lost his quarterfinal match 2-4.  Chance battled back with a tight 3-2 win and another pin.  Chance picked up his third pin of the day to take 5th place overall.  Drew McNatt dropped his opening match, but responded with a pin of his own before dropping his final match of the day.  Overall our JV competed well and battled all day.  The JV will be back in action at Mason HS on Wednesday and Friday at Ann Arbor Skyline Tournament.
